Definition of Intelligence
We
are looking for intelligence that gives us strength and usefulness in
life. If all of your efforts
went in to becoming a champion at spelling bees, you will be considered
intelligent for as long as you hold the title.
But what is the value of a human dictionary—or sports
statistician—or champion chess player who has little else to offer?
Beyond being knowledgeable in a narrow slot, you will be in trouble
because you will be at the mercy of those around you as you play in the
game of life—the real playing field.
The
tests for measuring IQ try to determine your ability to see deeper into
situations and problems and find more of the variables and possible
solutions. Instead of
selecting on the first answer that comes to their minds, people with
higher IQs look for more clues and additional possible answers before
deciding on what they think is the best answer.
That sounds tedious, but with practice analyzing and deciding
become automatic and basically instantaneous, and you are left with less
uncertainty because you know that your solutions are better.
How
The
basic path is to start developing constant questions of how people and
processes function and what else is there to know in each situation.
You can follow this process from improving today’s existence, to
establishing a better life quality, to exploring the mysteries of life.
