In
the early seventies, we had projects with both programmed learning systems
and Energy-Environment simulators. The
simulators were used to create active group participation.
The simulator programs proved surprisingly effective for changing
rigid personal attitudes in less than an hour.
The program’s ability to change attitudes was effective with
school children and adult groups across diverse levels of education.
The
major challenge in the simulator and program design was identifying why
the original simulator programs were so effective in opening up
participant’s minds to accepting new concepts that replaced firmly held
beliefs. With the discovery
of the mental mechanics involved with changing attitudes, we became able
to effectively expand in new directions.
We
followed the earlier Energy-Environment simulator designs with Personal
Energy Cost and Conservation simulators, Manufacturing Productivity
simulators, and Personal Behavior Modification units.
While all of the simulators were effective in changing attitudes
and behavior well beyond the limits of conventional wisdom, the Personal
Behavior Modification programs have brought about the most dramatic
results.
Our
experience in exploring personal behavior and life’s opportunities has
led to the current generation of Viewpoint Programs.
Today’s Viewpoint material has expanded greatly from our first
efforts. With the skills
learned in the programs, users have the potential to expand quality across
all aspects of their lives. We
offer the opportunity for insight and skills; you provide your own
choices.
With
today’s improved computers and software, we are now able to offer the
Viewpoint concepts on CD-ROM e-books that are compatible with Windows 95,
98 and ME, or with Window NT and 2000.
The programs are run from the CD-ROMs.
